In Pima County, Rep. Pete Hershberger has a slight lead over Al Melvin in the GOP primary for the Legislative District 26 Senate seat. Hershberger has 4,766 votes in the early ballots, compared to Melvin’s 4,493.
But up in Pinal County, where Melvin is at his strongest, he is beating Hershberger. He has 1,327, compared to Hershberger’s 494 votes. The Secretary of State’s office is reporting that 100 percent of the vote has been counted in Pinal.
